Abstract:

Behind virtually any popular technology these days is a computer program, but just being able to write a program is not a complete recipe for success. This talk will cover several examples of how university-based software projects can have an impact, and some lessons learned along the way, told from the Australian context.

Biography:

Dr. Martin Masek is a Senior Lecturer at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia. Martin obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in 1997 and Ph.D. in medical image processing in 2004, both from The University of Western Australia.
