Water Splitting

Water splitting is the chemical reaction in which water is broken down into oxygen and hydrogen:2 H2O โ†’ 2 H2 + O2

The reverse of water splitting is the basis of the hydrogen fuel cell.

This review describes advances in nanomaterials, specifically carbon nanotubes, graphene, nanodiamonds, nanoporous materials, coreโ€“shell nanoparticles, antimonene, MXenes, 2D MOF nanosheets, layered double hydroxides, and metal-based nanomaterials.
