Non-covalent interactions can be studied/detected using mass spectrometry. There are lot of studies published on the use of mass spectrometry for detection of non-covalent simple and macromolecular complexes. In several cases, electrospray ionization (ESI), especially, "nanospray" has proved to be useful for detection and characterization of non-covalent complexes
