A Brief Biography
Dr. Jamila Sadat Alamolhoda was born in March 1965 in Mashhad and lived in one of the middle-class neighborhoods of the city until she was seven years old. She was brought up in a religious family with authentic family values. At the age of ten, she came to Tehran with her family and completed her primary education in Tehran. Due to the compulsion to remove the hijab of high school girls, which was strictly pursued by the educational system of that day, she refused to continue her education in high school until the victory of the Islamic Revolution. But immediately after the cultural revolution and the opening of schools and universities with the Iranian Islamic model, she, who enjoyed a rich natural talent, made up for her lack of attendance by passing high school through grade skipping.
Dr. Alamolhoda was admitted in midwifery at Tehran University of Medical Sciences after passing the university entrance exam in 1983 and studied in this field for one year. However, due to her interest in humanities, she participated in the next year’s entrance exam and continued her studies in philosophy of education at Tarbiat Modares University in Tehran, which is one of the top ten universities in Iran.
She married Hojjat ul-Islam Dr. Seyed Ebrahim Raeisi in 1983, and she has two daughters. Her first daughter, Reihaneh Sadat Raeisi, is married, has two children, and has two master’s degrees, one in the field of social sciences from Al-Zahra University, and the other in the field of Qur’an and Hadith from Qur’an and Hadith University. Her second daughter named Haniyeh Sadat Raeisi is married, and is a bachelor’s student in physics at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran.
In 2001, Dr. Alamolhoda obtained a PhD degree in philosophy of education and immediately became a faculty member of the Department of Education at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran. Now, after many years of teaching in PhD, master’s and bachelor’s degrees, completing extensive scientific research, managing research institutes and related scientific committees, she is now engaged in educational, research and cultural activities as an associate professor at this university.
During her professional career, Dr. Alamolhoda has authored ten books in the field of education and published more than 44 scientific and research articles in Iranian and international journals. She has also conducted more than 15 national research projects, her research is known among the theorists of her specialized field in Iran.
Some of her managerial records include the secretary of the council for the development and modernization of the country’s educational system (Tehran, 2020-2021), the dean of the curriculum planning and educational innovations research institute (2009-2020), the head of the education commission of the secretariat of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution (2012-2019), the launch of the humanities and social sciences innovation center of Shahid Beheshti University in 2019, and the launch of the science and theology center of Shahid Beheshti University in 2021.
Also, since 2012, Dr. Alamolhoda has been the dean of the Institute for Science and Technology Studies at Shahid Beheshti University. She was selected as the top research manager by the Ministry of Education in 2008, the exemplary Basiji professor of Iran in 2011, and the top researcher of Shahid Beheshti University for authoring the book “The Islamic Theory of Human Growth”.
