Religious issues in the post-Corona era, challenges and opportunities
Dr. Jamileh Alamolhoda, faculty member of Shahid Beheshti University, stated: “The religious discussions at the international level during the days of Corona have provided the conditions for serious religious discussions at the international level that have not been raised since 300 years ago.” According to the report of the public and international relations office of the Astan Quds Razavi Islamic Research Foundation, Dr. Alamolhoda stated in the scientific meeting “Issues of religious education in the post-corona era, challenges and opportunities”: With the rule of secularism, which focused on the concept of utility and usefulness, the relevance of social institutions changed, the institutions of politics and economy became one, and the structures and organizations became uniform.”
Alamolhoda stated: “In the meantime, a new ideology called development was born, to which undeveloped and developed countries joined. In this regard, the institution of science and technology was accompanied by and adapted to the development approach. After 300 years, Corona caused the institutions interact with each other and define themselves. This confrontation of institutions brought two big risks; firstly, the changes of institutional relations and the discovery of gaps and capacities, and secondly, the suspension at the level of ruling uniform structures and patterns in beliefs.
She pointed to three narratives in the face of these dangers and said: “The first narrative is traditional naturalism, which is a type of unspecified spiritualism and has vague gods. In fact, this view is an eastern view that is adopted to save humanity.
Unfortunately, the Islamic approach has not been addressed seriously and properly in the corona situation, which is very special.
She stated: “After the Islamic revolution, an approach has been put against the western and eastern approaches, which has a guiding view based on the principles of the Holy Quran and the traditions of the Imams.” This university professor continued: “Based on the teachings of the Islamic religion, the main issue is guidance, not saving humanity, and Corona gave us an opportunity to evolve.”
