Parenting education is the first issue of policy-making in education

Dr. Jamileh Alamolhoda: “In terms of religious teachings, education starts from the embryonic period; for example, there are recommendations about the cultural food of the mother and father and its nutritional health (whether it is obtained from haram or halal income). Accordingly, the period before school is very important. And for this reason, it needs attention from several aspects at the policy-making level. In my opinion, in policy making, the first issue is “parenting education”. That is, before we create any other structure, we must educate parents how to have and raise children. In addition to physical maturity, we need intellectual maturity and parenting skills. Unfortunately, we have not had a specific planning and policy in this field. Especially if we are supposed to follow the population policies and increase the population according to the recommendation of the Supreme Leader, the importance of this issue multiplies.

Unfortunately, we do not have complete literature in this field. There are a number of hadiths that have not even been interpreted in full. There has been no theorizing about this field at all, and it is considered a neglected area. Yet, if we don’t have parenting, even having a very good kindergarten will not solve our problem. .

The second thing that we seem to need in terms of policy-making is the design and establishment of kindergartens. Again, in keeping with the modern holistic trend, we have a very fixed standard image of kindergartens.

There are international standards regarding the start time, the time when the child is involved, the games that children should play, their food, their clothes, their hygiene, and according to the same standards, we have the same kindergartens in Iran with a small variation.
