The unveiling ceremony of the Persian translation of the book “Self-objectification in Women: Causes, Consequences, and Counteractions”
The unveiling ceremony of the Persian translation of the book “Self-objectification in women: causes, consequences, and counteractions” was held in the presence of Ayatollah Misbah Ameli and Dr. Jamileh Sadat Alamolhoda at the management center of Khorasan Seminary. Dr. Alamolhoda, director of the family thinking skills board of the seminary and associate professor of Shahid Beheshti University stated in this meeting: “Violence against Iranian women, like most women in the world, is of three types:
Seeing women not as human beings but as tools for sexual exploitation.
Women are transformed and suffer from self-objectification; that is, they accept and like to be only sexual instruments.
They experience exploitation and sexual violence in voluntary free relationships.
In addition, Iranian women suffer from another type of violence due to the role they played in Iran’s civilizational revolution.
Iranian women are seen as tools of colonial development. We can refer to the removal of hijab and the imposition of sexual freedoms to impose modernity during Reza Khan’s time.
Even today, victims of sexual violence like Romina, who suffered from all three types of violence, are still seen as a means of suppressing a nation.
It is time for Iranian women to understand their historical responsibility and not allow this view to develop as a tool.
Iranian women should be the leaders and rise up against the violence of the western civilization towards women.
